Last Day

The day has come. I leave today for Ireland, and I have ALOT of packing to do. I am going to miss Heather so much, she is the most amazing wife I could have ever asked for. I am going to miss my parents, they are coming over in 2 weeks, but I will still miss them dearly. I will miss my Grandparents and family at thanksgiving. It will be a tough holiday, but Heather will be with me by then! I will miss Heather's families. They are all very special to me, and I know I will miss them alot. I will miss my friends. I have played trivia with Nick the last 2 weeks on Wednesday night at Dan McGuinness, and it has been alot of fun. We will definitely continue that trend. I will miss my little buddy, Sam. He is the best dog in the world, and will definitely be great company to Heather, and a great little guard dog.

Pray for me to be safe, enjoy my time, and that I'll find great gifts for you all! I will miss the good ole US of A, and all the wonderful people here.

Love,
J

Been such a long time...

Well it has been over a week since my last post here. Alot has gone on since then...
1) Heather returned home safely, and all is well!
2) The EZ Board I created has blossomed. Alot of my closest friends use it, and it provides good entertainment for us throughout the week.
3) Heather, Sam and I travelled to Hollandale, MS (where the in-laws live). We watched Heather's brother play soccer and had a great weekend!

Now I am in my 3rd of 4 weeks of this rotation. All is going well, and I am really enjoying my 4th year thus far. I leave in 11 days for Europe. Once over there, I will post here more often, as it will be a primary means of communication between myself and anyone who wants to read how my months are going!

Until next time,
-J

Gone...

Well, It's Friday night. Heather is in Scottsdale, AZ. So...that puts me here at the house all by my lonesome. I just created an EZ-board to try and keep in touch with my friends who are slowly moving all across the country. Hopefully everyone will like it, and they will use it alot.

3 weeks from today I will be flying out of Memphis -> Newark, NJ -> Dublin, IRE.

Until later,

New rotation

Hmm...well I started at St. Francis yesterday with Dr. Todd Crowell. I round with the Family Practice medicine team, and everything is great so far.

The Good: I knew all the residents already, since my last rotation with Dr. Franks at the UT-Family Practice Clinic. The residents at the clinic are the same residents on my rounding team. Everything is very laid back at St. Francis. Everything moves at a slower pace, and I am still learning/brushing up on stuff. Since everything is laid back, I will get to have several topic discussions throughout the month which will only help me learn more! On a lighter note, I found out today that I don't have to wear a tie if I don't want to, and I can wear scrubs on Fridays!

The Not so Good: Everything moves at a slower pace at St. Francis. This means less rush, but also more SLOW time. Also, it just so happens this month that I am the ONLY PHARMACY STUDENT in the whole hospital. Dr. Crowell is around all the time thus far, I just don't know that will be the case for the whole month.

That is probably about it for my 2 days. I am sure there will be stories, and I will be sure to talk more about them.

Beginnings

Hmm...where to begin. I am starting this blog as a nice log for everyone to read(especially that lovely wife of mine) while I am "across the pond" in Europe for 2 months!!!!

The excitement of such an amazing trip is bittersweet with the sad fact I will be away from Heather for about 6 weeks straight... I know we can get through it, that is not what I am worried about. I just know we will miss each other so much.

So, before this blog turns into one big love fest, I'll sign this first post off.

-Jonathan

PS. Here is where I'll be while in Dublin for the month of October for rotation.
